First Encounter: July 2022 – Through the Photographer’s Lens
My very first Chateau Appony Review dates back to July 2022. At that time, I was still working as a wedding photographer and had been invited to capture a Slovak–Swiss wedding. It was one of those celebrations that stay with you for all the right reasons. That day, I not only documented love but also experienced my first overnight stay at the manor. The impression the château left on me was lasting — elegant, calm, and full of character.
Return with Castle Weddings – Summer 2024
By June 2024, I came back — this time not alone, but with Tatiana, as part of our Castle Weddings journey. We were meeting with the venue team to finalize wedding details and also hosted one of our Castle Picnics here, part of a series of six we organized that summer. The park of Chateau Appony proved to be the perfect backdrop.
Just a week later, we had the honor of planning our first Russian–Slovak wedding here. And by the end of July, another unforgettable celebration: the wedding of Andy Winson and his now-wife. Each of these weddings brought its own charm to the château, highlighting just how versatile and welcoming the venue truly is.
May 2025 – Another Wedding Stay
Our most recent stay was in May 2025, again tied to a wedding. Spending the night reminded us once more of why we enjoy this place so much.
- Rooms & Suites: The standard rooms are comfortable and perfectly fine, but it’s the apartments that shine — spacious, elegant, and among the most beautiful in Slovakia. Perhaps they don’t carry the ornate glamour of Chateau Tomášov, but they certainly hold their own charm and are a strong reason to book a stay.
- Dining: Whether during weddings, casual lunches with friends, or dinners after meetings, the food has consistently been excellent. Truly worth praising.
- Service: Always professional, attentive, and reliable. Every event we organized here was seamless thanks to the team’s effort.
Spaces for Every Occasion
One of the château’s strengths is its flexibility. It offers several event spaces, giving us the ability always to have a Plan A, B, or even C when needed. For weddings, this is invaluable.
The park is vast — so large that choosing the right ceremony spot can almost become a challenge. Yet every corner of it feels special and serene.

🥃 The underground cognac bar — an intimate and beautifully designed space reserved for special guests.
📖 Several wooden book cabinets filled with historic volumes scattered across the château, reminding you at every step that this is a place with heritage.
More than Weddings
What makes Chateau Appony stand out is that it isn’t just a wedding venue for us. We’ve returned several times simply to meet friends, share a drink, or sit with our brides-to-be. It’s a château that invites you back — not only for work, but also for the joy of being there.
